Buying and choosing refrigerant.

Who is responsible for refrigerant after purchase?

Refrigeration Centre supplies refrigerant only for lawful use by competent persons. Handling, transport, storage and recovery of refrigerant are the buyer’s responsibility under the terms of sale.

What cylinder sizes do you hold?

There is no fixed cylinder size. Each gas comes in its own packing sizes, and the net weight differs from brand to brand and from gas to gas, so Refrigeration Centre keeps both small and large cylinders rather than one standard weight. Call or WhatsApp with the gas and roughly how much you need, and we will confirm the cylinders on hand and their net weight. Cylinders are supplied on the filler’s terms, and any deposit or return arrangement is stated on the invoice.

Can R32 use the same copper pipe as R410A?

Generally yes. R32 and R410A run at similar pressures, so manufacturers apply the same wall-thickness, flare and flare-nut rules to both, though the pipe diameters for a given unit still come from its manual. Both run at higher pressure than R22, so piping and flare nuts made for R22 may not be suitable — see reusing R22 pipe.

What is the difference between R22, R410A and R32?

R22 is an HCFC that depletes the ozone layer; it is being phased out under the Montreal Protocol and is now used mainly to service older equipment. R410A is an HFC blend that does not harm the ozone layer but has a high global-warming potential (GWP 2,088). R32 is a single-component HFC with a GWP of 675 and is now the usual refrigerant in new split ACs in India. R32 is classed A2L (mildly flammable), so it needs tools rated for it.
