RANGE / CONSUMABLES

Consumables and tapes.

AC unit stands and anti-vibration pads, capacitors, relays and contactors, brazing rods, flux and butane, and eleven kinds of tape: the everyday consumables AC and refrigeration technicians use on every job.

Consumables: tapes, brazing and spares.

Which tape is used to wrap AC copper pipes?

Split-AC pipe bundles, meaning the two insulated copper lines, the interconnecting cable and the drain pipe, are usually finished with non-adhesive PVC wrapping tape, which keeps the bundle tidy and protects the insulation from sunlight. Joints in nitrile insulation are sealed with nitrile foam tape, and aluminium foil tape is used on duct joints. Refrigeration Centre stocks all three, along with eight other tapes. See protecting insulation outdoors.

How do I choose a replacement capacitor?

Match the capacitance in µF, and use a voltage rating at least as high as the one printed on the old capacitor. Start and run capacitors are not interchangeable: a start capacitor is in circuit only for a moment at start-up, while a run capacitor stays in circuit while the motor runs. Send the label details or a photo on WhatsApp and Refrigeration Centre will check stock for the same rating.

What is the difference between an OLP and an OLR?

An OLP (overload protector) is a small thermal cut-out fitted on a hermetic compressor that opens the circuit if the compressor overheats or draws too much current. An OLR (overload relay) is a thermal relay, usually mounted with a contactor, that trips a motor circuit on sustained overcurrent. Refrigeration Centre stocks both; send the old part’s rating or a photo to match it.

Do you stock brazing rods, flux and butane?

Yes. Refrigeration Centre stocks copper, brass and silver brazing rods, brazing flux and butane cans for portable torches. Copper-phosphorus rods suit copper-to-copper joints without flux, while silver rods with flux suit copper-to-brass and copper-to-steel joints. See which brazing rod to use and how to braze copper pipe.

Do you supply AC outdoor unit stands and anti-vibration pads?

Yes. Refrigeration Centre stocks wall-mounting outdoor unit stands, floor mounting stands and rubber anti-vibration pads that sit under the unit to cut noise and vibration. Tell us the AC capacity or the outdoor unit’s size and weight, and we will confirm a suitable stand from stock.

Can I buy a single roll of tape or a single rod?

Yes. There is no minimum order: buy a single roll, rod or capacitor over the counter, or larger quantities for project and dealer stock. Orders are dispatched across India on confirmation, with a GST invoice.
