Wires and cables: choosing and ordering.
What does FRLS cable mean?
FRLS stands for Flame Retardant, Low Smoke. The outer sheath resists the spread of fire and gives off less smoke when it burns, which is why many buildings specify it for internal wiring. Where a project calls for FRLS, send the core count and size you need and Refrigeration Centre will confirm availability.
Which cable do I need between the indoor and outdoor unit?
The core count and conductor size are set by the AC manufacturer and listed in the unit’s installation manual, so follow the manual for your model. Signal wiring between the units is typically flexible communication cable, while a power feed that is buried or exposed to damage is typically armoured cable. Send the model number or a photo of the manual page on WhatsApp to +91 89399 93555 and Refrigeration Centre will confirm the cable and its availability.
What is the difference between armoured, shielded and flexible communication cable?
Armoured cable has a metal armour layer over its insulation to protect it from mechanical damage, so it suits buried or exposed power runs such as feeds to outdoor units and plant rooms. Shielded cable has a screen that keeps electrical interference away from control and sensor signals. Flexible communication cable carries signal and communication wiring between indoor and outdoor units and in multi-split and VRF systems.
Which cable brands do you stock?
Brands include Polycab, Finolex, Orbit, Mardia and Omex. Core counts, sizes and lengths vary by brand and stock, so call or WhatsApp +91 89399 93555 with what you need and Refrigeration Centre will confirm availability.
Do you ship cable outside Chennai?
Yes. Refrigeration Centre ships across India. Send your list on WhatsApp to +91 89399 93555 and Refrigeration Centre will confirm stock, price and dispatch; every order carries a GST invoice.
Do you also stock capacitors, relays and contactors?
Yes. They are on the consumables and tapes page, along with unit stands, brazing rods, flux, butane and eleven kinds of tape.
