Copper fittings: types and sizes.
What types of copper fittings are used in AC and refrigeration?
The common wrought copper fittings are 90° and 45° elbows (standard and long radius), couplings, equal and reducing tees, reducers, U-bends, crosses and end caps, all joined by brazing. Long-radius elbows cut pressure drop on suction lines, U-bends join tubes in coils, and reducers and reducing tees step between line sizes. Refrigeration Centre stocks all ten types from 1/8″ to 4-1/8″ at its Parrys, Chennai counter.
Do your copper fittings match your copper pipe sizes?
Yes, for ACR sizes. Copper fittings are stocked from 1/8″ to 4-1/8″ (104.8 mm), each sized to the outside diameter of the tube it takes, so a 7/8″ elbow fits 7/8″ (22.23 mm) tube. Fittings for pipe larger than 4-1/8″ can be supplied to order.
What is the difference between a copper coupling, reducer and reducing tee?
A coupling joins two tubes of the same OD in a straight line. A reducer joins two different ODs — for example 7/8″ to 5/8″. A reducing tee makes a branch whose size differs from the run. When ordering, give both sizes for a reducer and all three for a reducing tee.
Can copper fittings be supplied to order?
Yes. Sizes and reductions outside the stocked range can be sourced on order — send the size and quantity for price and lead time. Items supplied to your specification are not returnable under the terms of sale.
Can you supply copper fittings in project quantities?
Yes. Send the size mix and quantities as a part list — elbows, tees, reducers and couplings by size — and Refrigeration Centre confirms stock and quotes the trade price on the call or on WhatsApp. Project orders can be collected from the Parrys counter or dispatched across India, with freight quoted alongside the parts.
